Pdfello (“Pdfello”, “we”, “us”) is an online PDF toolkit operated as part of Cleverfolio (cleverfolio.me). This Privacy Policy applies to the Pdfello website, web application, and related processing pipelines that convert, edit, compress, or otherwise transform documents you upload.

This policy covers:
It does not cover third-party websites you may reach from our pages, or payment providers’ own privacy notices when you check out.
A. Document files you upload. PDFs, images, Office files, and related job outputs you create. We process these to run the tool you selected (for example merge, compress, OCR, edit, convert, protect). We do not sell your documents or use their contents for advertising.
B. Account & identity data (when you register or sign in): email address, password hash (we do not store plaintext passwords), name if provided, Google OAuth identifiers if you use Google sign-in, plan and subscription status, organization/team membership when used.
C. Usage & technical data: IP address and coarse location derived from IP, browser and device type, timestamps, tool/job identifiers, success/failure codes, approximate file sizes, plan quotas and counters, and security/abuse signals. Product analytics are designed not to include document contents or sensitive filenames.
D. Communications: messages you send to support, and transactional emails (welcome, signature links, invoices) when email delivery is configured.
E. Payment data: when paid plans are live, billing is handled by payment processors (for example PayU). We receive payment status, plan, and invoice metadata — we do not store full card numbers on Pdfello servers.
F. Signature-related data (when you use e-sign features): signature images you draw, request metadata, and events needed to produce a signed PDF. Convenience e-sign is not marketed as a jurisdiction-certified digital signature or trust-service product.
Depending on your location and the activity, we rely on one or more of:
If you are in India, we process personal data in line with applicable requirements under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and related rules as they apply to our role as a data fiduciary for account and usage data, and as a processor of document content you upload for a tool run.
Document files are kept only for the window that matches your plan so storage stays tidy. Current defaults (subject to change; see Data retention):
When signed in, you may trash files or permanently delete them earlier from My Files — you do not have to wait for the plan window to end. Usage counters, security logs, and billing records may be kept longer as needed for quotas, abuse prevention, accounting, and legal compliance (typically limited metadata, not full PDF contents).
Account deletion requests: email [email protected] from your account email. We will delete or anonymize account personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records.
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a document-processing SaaS: transport encryption (HTTPS), access controls, isolated processing workers, file-type validation, rate limits, and automatic deletion after retention windows. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for safeguarding account credentials and for only uploading files you are allowed to process.
Password-protected PDFs and unlock tools must only be used when you are authorized to access the content.
We may process and store data in countries where our infrastructure or processors operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (for example contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. California residents may have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA (including to know, delete, and correct certain personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — we do not sell personal information as commonly understood for document contents).
To exercise rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Pdfello is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes may also be notified via the website or email when appropriate. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
