These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Cleverfolio, operating Pdfello (“Pdfello”, “we”, “us”). They govern access to and use of the Pdfello website, applications, APIs (if enabled), and related services (the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or uploading a file, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
Pdfello provides online tools to process documents (including merge, split, compress, convert, OCR, edit, sign, protect, and related utilities). Features, limits, and availability may change. We may add, modify, or discontinue tools or plans with reasonable notice where practicable.
Guest use is allowed for many tools without an account, subject to rate limits, file-size limits, and short retention. Registered plans may offer higher limits, history, and longer retention.
Processing runs on our infrastructure. Outputs are best-effort: conversion, OCR, compression, and editing quality vary by source file. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them.
We may refuse registration, reclaim usernames, or require verification to protect the Service.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of files you upload and outputs generated from them (“Your Content”), subject to third-party rights in the source material. You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to upload and process Your Content.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and temporarily store Your Content solely to provide the Service you request (including previews, conversions, and downloads), and to maintain security and backups during the retention window.
We do not claim ownership of Your Content. After retention expiry or deletion, we delete file bytes according to our retention practices, except limited logs/metadata needed for security, quotas, or legal compliance.
Signature features on Pdfello are provided for convenience (for example drawing and placing a signature image or completing a simple signing link). They are not a qualified trust service, notary, identity-proofing platform, or guarantee of legal validity in any jurisdiction.
You are solely responsible for determining whether an electronic signature is appropriate and enforceable for your document and jurisdiction. Do not use Pdfello as a substitute for regulated digital-signature or e-sign compliance products where the law requires them.
Plan features, prices, and quotas are described on the Pricing page and may change. Free and guest tiers are provided at our discretion and may be limited or modified.
When paid billing is enabled: subscriptions renew until cancelled; fees are charged via our payment partners; taxes may apply. Cancel according to in-product billing controls or by contacting support before the renewal date to avoid the next charge where required by law.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. Chargebacks filed in bad faith may result in suspension.
The Service, including software, design, trademarks, and documentation (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service as offered. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of our software except as permitted by law or written agreement.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that processing will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that outputs will be accurate, complete, printable on all devices, or suitable for any legal, medical, financial, or archival purpose. OCR, conversion, and compression may alter appearance or discard data.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50 (OR EQUIVALENT), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW (FOR EXAMPLE CERTAIN CONSUMER RIGHTS OR LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE WHERE SUCH LIMITS ARE PROHIBITED).
You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another’s rights — except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, fail to pay fees, or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
Courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any non-waivable rights you have to bring claims in your local courts as a consumer. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and attempt good-faith resolution for 30 days.
We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date will change. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where local law requires express consent.
